François-Pierre Poirier

A Gaspesian-born pianist, composer and arranger, François-Pierre Poirier was active on the Montreal scene for over 10 years. Having resettled in the town of Gaspé in 2018, he now teaches music at Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles.

Phile (Philippe Patenaude)

A resident of the Gaspé Peninsula since 2002, Phile has created two albums: Le corps territoire, in which he incorporated sounds captured both in nature and in the city, and Les vents violents, with its catchy, introspective songs. He offers creation workshops in regional schools.

Gaëtan Essiambre

Born in Montreal to Gaspesian parents, Gaëtan Essiambre is well known for his music productions on television (Rock et Belles Oreilles, Un gars, une fille, Salut Bonjour) and in humor (Les Denis Drolet, Mario Jean, Jean-Michel Anctil). He had hits on the radio in the 1980s, and released the album Directions in 2014. A resident of Percé, he enjoys a career as a singer-songwriter.

Justine Fournier

Born in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, Justine Fournier studied classical violin there for 13 years at École de musique Miransol before turning to jazz piano at Cégep de Saint-Laurent in Montreal. She’s currently studying popular performance with a keyboard concentration at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), and teaching music.

Juan Sebastián Larobina

Born in Argentina, Juan Sebastián Larobina grew up in Mexico before eventually moving to the Gaspé region, where he was quick to settle in and immerse himself in the culture. His music and poetry – reflections of encounters made in the course of a good deal of travel – are fundamentally international.

Trames collective

Cofounded in 2015 by sound artists Guillaume Campion and Guillaume Côté, the Trames collective works in sound creation, media arts and cultural mediation. Through their realizations the Gaspesian-born duo weave links between music, sound, territory and community, showcasing listening as a tool for creating and for interpreting the world.

Monsieur Nokturn (Olivier Brien)

For over 10 years, Monsieur Nokturn has been appearing on electronic stages in Québec to share the results of his original music research. A DJ and producer, he turns to older art in his blend of classical melodies and “underground” laments.

Éric Dion

A musician, producer and singer-songwriter, Éric Dion is a native of New Richmond. Since 2014 he and André Lavergne have made up the duo Dans l’Shed; the two have given over 100 shows and released five albums.

Richard Dunn

A degree-holder in music, Richard Dunn has been teaching his art for 25 years. He’s a sound engineer and sound designer, and has accompanied a number of artists such as Laurence Jalbert, Richard Séguin and Nanette Workman. He currently works at Studio Tracadièche in Carleton-sur-Mer.

Spacey Koala

François Clavet sculpts sounds, wields a guitar and works as an arranger. He converses with his audience by way of the worlds he creates out of the wealth of sound and music that surrounds him. A native of the city of Gaspé who’s taken his music project Spacey Koala to different countries, he keeps on fine-tuning his art.

Alex Pelletier

A native of Port-Cartier, Alex Pelletier has been heard on the Québec scene as a guitarist and bassist alongside Patrice Michaud, Lisa Leblanc, Maxime Landry, Pat The White and Gaëtan Essiambre, among others. A resident of the town of Gaspé since 2007, he now works as an arranger and producer with a number of Gaspesian artists.

Guillaume Arsenault

Singer-songwriter Guillaume Arsenault was born in the Gaspé, where he’s run a “song shop” for over 20 years. He describes his songs as being folk in nature, dressed in keyboards and hypnotic rhythms from the world of electronica.
