“L’ÉDITION COMME FINALITÉ” IN FRANCE AND QUÉBEC
Rencontres de la photographie en Gaspésie and the organization Les PUI – Pratiques et Usages de l’Image in Nantes, France, are presenting the 2nd edition of “L’espace du livre,” on the theme “L’édition comme finalité” (The Publication as Objective), a project consisting of an exhibition, exchanges and get-togethers on the subject of the photographic book, and that is taking place:
- from May 8 to 30, 2021, at Atelier Alain le Bras in Nantes, France;
- from July 30 to September 4, 2021, at the Gabrielle-Bernard-Dubé library in Carleton-sur-Mer as part of the 12th edition of Rencontres;
- from September 9 to October 10, at Maison de la culture Janine-Sutto in Montreal.
The exhibit brings together more than 25 books from Québec and the same number of books from France that consider publication as the intended result of an artistic approach. Commissioner Serge Allaire chose the Québec works presented, while Pratiques et Usages de l’Image selected the French books.
This initiative was made possible thanks to the support of the Fonds franco-québécois pour la coopération décentralisée.
